Sqsh (pronounced skwish) is short for SQshelL (pronounced s-q-shell), it is intended as a replacement for the venerable 'isql' program supplied by Sybase. It came about due to years of frustration of trying to do real work with a program that was never meant to perform real work. Sqsh is much more than a nice prompt, it is intended to provide much of the functionality provided by a good shell, such as variables, redirection, pipes, back-grounding, job control, history, command completion, and dynamic configuration. Also, as a by-product of the design, it is remarkably easy to extend and add functionality. This package uses the Motif frontend.

Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
Please note the vulnerabilities database might not be fully accurate, and not every bug is exploitable with every configuration.
Problem reports, updates or suggestions for this package should be reported with send-pr.
