Dante is a socks 4/5 proxy. It acts as a circuit-level firewall/proxy that can be used to provide convenient and secure network connectivity to a wide range of hosts while requiring only the server Dante runs on to have external network connectivity. Once installed, Dante can in most cases be made transparent to the clients while offering detailed access control and logging facilities to the server administrator. The Dante version provided via FTP is under a BSD/CMU-type license and comes with complete source code, for your convenience and verification availability.

Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
Please note the vulnerabilities database might not be fully accurate, and not every bug is exploitable with every configuration.
Problem reports, updates or suggestions for this package should be reported with send-pr.
